The Showmans Show 2016

We can’t quite believe it has been a week since the start of The Showman’s Show! The show was a huge success for the company, and we met some fantastic exhibitors and visitors, who had plans to start their own Tipi Hire Business, Wedding Venue and Glamping Site, to name just a few. We also received amazing feedback about our updated Accessories Brochure and our impressive setup of; Two Big Hats, Baby Tipi and Catering Tent all interlinked, accompanied by our new Sectional Wooden Flooring and a standalone Little Hat and Midi Tipi!

Our feet are firmly back on Tipi Company HQ ground, and our Sales Team have begun working on all enquiries from the show, so please keep an eye on your inbox for some exciting tipi information.

Our Marketing Assistants first time at The Showman’s Show…

For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Lizi – the Marketing Assistant for The Tipi Company. I started working for the company in February, so this was my first time attending the show and I loved it!

During my spare time, I love attending outdoor events – festivals being my favourite. So the show was a perfect opportunity for me to meet suppliers and see how a festival is organised from a different prospective. It’s hard to believe how much there is to organise; from festival wristbands to toilets, catering, advertisement, large television screens and so much more.

It looked like a sea of event craziness from our stand – it was pretty ace! I managed to get away from our stand for half an hour to check out what the show had to offer. I found everything from inflatable structures to drone advertisements, fun fair rides and my favourite find of the week – Popup Piaggio!

Popup Piaggio

Popup Piaggio offer vehicles as ready-made units for one-off events as well as long running marketing campaigns. They had one of their vans at the show with a screen displaying seminar information for the Campfire Sessions held in our Sister Companies tipis – Big Chief Tipis.

I was walking down Avenue D when I spotted this little beauty from the corner of my eye – a bright pink mobile bar – filled with Prosecco, a selection of the best Wines, Beer and Soft Drinks. It was the fuschia pink colour that caught my eye first of all, and then the luxury drinks selection.

Not only did they have a Pink Pop Up Prosecco Bar, but they were also showcasing a cool Mobile Coffee Bar kitted out with the latest coffee machine, fridge, microwave and it even had a hob. I think the Pop Up Piaggio is an outdoor event must-have!

I stopped to chat to the guys from Pop Up Piaggio, and they are lovely and so passionate about their product – I hope we have an opportunity to work together in the future as it would be the perfect addition to any tipi event!

It’s hard to choose between the Drone Adverts and TheAirBag.net for my second favourite product from the show. Both products are completely different and unique to the events industry.

The Air Bag

We had large television screens (adi.tv) right next to our stand. If you used the #ShowmansShow when tweeting, you had a chance of your tweet being displayed on the screen.

I popped out for a quick break and noticed TheAirBag on the screen – probably THE coolest invention to date! TheAirBag is a fully inflatable, fun and exciting yet safe activity in which you jump from a high platform. I’m scared of heights, so it took me a good 40 seconds to climb to the top and let go of the sides to jump. My heart was beating so fast for at least 10 minutes after, but it really was a great addition to the show.

Drone Adverts

I’ve always wanted to see a Drone in action, and I finally had the opportunity to at the show. In the middle area of the outdoor exhibitors was a large field, and the team from Drone Adverts had their super-cool drone flying high throughout the two days.

The difference with this particular drone is that it had a banner attached to the back – acting as an advertisement for the company. When chatting to the guys who operate this fantastic advertisement tool, I asked if they had any further development plans as I thought it was a pretty cool idea. They spoke about their ideas and plans to further enhance their advertisement opportunities with a digital advertisement – allowing users to change what the advertisement displays in terms of text and images, when in the air.

Suffice to say, I had an amazing time meeting other exhibitors and potential Tipi Company clients. I’m already thoroughly looking forward to attending again next year!
